Last year Netatmo June introduced UV levels tracking and today we see that feature in multi-function trackers like the Microsoft Band and the Asus Vivowatch. It seems every passing day brings about new domains of the human body trackers can cover. Founded in 2014, Bellabeat focuses on women with their Leaf tracker which monitors stress, sleep, activity and ovulation.
When worn as a necklace, the Bellabeat Leaf can monitor stress levels from the breathing rate and correlate that with user input stress entries over time. Daily movements during the day and rest are quantified it in terms of activity level or sleep quality. The Leaf also monitors menstrual cycle and by cross referencing daily activity in the LEAF app with menstrual cycle, women are able to better understand their health trends during this specific time and identify ovulation days.
The Leaf’s vibrating motor can be set to go off as a wake up alarm, inactivity alert or remind the user about important events such as time to take a pill. Over time, the Bellabeat Leaf becomes smarter as it learns the users habits and provides feedback accordingly.
“The LEAF is truly unique in that it allows you to cross reference your cycle with trends in your daily activity, all easily viewable in your app. “
With replaceable batteries lasting 6 months of use, the Bellabeat Leaf requires no charging. The Bellabeat Leaf is available in dark Marshwood embellished with gold plating ($249) or the original Leaf with wood and stainless steel. ($119)
