Dutch based TomTom announced a new line of Spark GPS fitness watches at IFA Berlin. The TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch essentially crams everything a runner requires (Bluetooth earphones optional) into a complete wrist worn fitness device.
The 3GB on board storage allows the user to store up to 500 songs, leaving you free to go for a run with just the TomTom Spark and a pair of Bluetooth earphones, no smart phones required. Awesome! The TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch also comes pre-loaded with Running Trax, a bespoke thirty minute mix of motivating, high energy, upbeat dance anthems from some of the world’s best DJs, curated by Ministry of Sound. Playlists can also be easily downloaded to TomTom Spark from iTunes or Windows Media® Player.
The new TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch is also a 24/7 activity tracker capable of monitoring your number of steps, calories burned, active minutes and couples that with automatic sleep tracking. The data is synced to the MySports app and tracked stats can be reviewed on multiple platforms including TomTom MySports, RunKeeper, Nike+ and more.
There’s word that an update in the near future will give the TomTom Spark Cardio + Music GPS Fitness Watch smart phone notifications capabilities and continuous heart rate tracking.
