Just announced at the Internationale Funkausstellung 2014 (IFA), Sony will be releasing a series of new products including the Sony SmartBand Talk SWR30; think Smartband SWR10 with an e-ink screen.
Similar to the Smartband SWR10, the SmartBand Talk SWR30 logs your daily activities (movement and sleep) with an in built accelerometer and altimeter. The information is synced to your compatible smartphone devices where you can view your day’s activities at a glance. Be assured Sony’s Lifelog app will capture almost everything you do on your smartphone device thus the name Lifelog.
According to Sony, the company has taken into consideration consumer feedback and implemented e-ink display in the SmartBand Talk SWR30 for low power consumption and high visibility. The 1.4 inch e-ink display is curved for easy viewing and the SmartBand Talk SWR30 features a 70mA battery promising about 3 days of usage.
The other notable feature the SmartBand Talk SWR30 has over the Smartband SWR10 is the capability to take and receive calls. With a built in microphone, speaker and Sony’s HD Voice support, talking and hearing your caller becomes a reality and not simply things you see in the movies.
The list of features go on and on:
- E-ink display
- Call function
- Activity tracking and goal setting
- Displays notifications from your smartphone device
- Time function
- 3 days battery life
- Lifelogging function similar to Smartband SWR10
- IP68 rated (waterproof)
- Voice control in 6 languages, tap and gesture input
- Vibration
