Pebble Time

Pebble smart watch started off as a Kickstarter and grew from strength to strength battling off wave after wave of smart watches which are…not as smart.

Even today, it is very hard for other smart watches to go head to head with Pebble’s 7 days battery, e-ink display, water resistant up to 50m, customisable watch faces and a myriad of straps, smart watch notifications and vibration. Not to mention the later addition of watch apps like fitness apps like Runkeeper, Jawbone and Misfit.

Pebble kept getting better.

Today, Pebble announces their latest addition to their stable, the Pebble Time. The new Pebble Time features colour e-ink, a new timeline interface and up to  7 days battery life. One of the newest feature is that users can now send quick replies by diction instead of fiddling around with the buttons.

The new slim profile and slightly roundish edges of the watch face also gives the previous squarish Pebble and Pebble Steel a softer appearance.

 List of features:

  • Always-on, daylight readable screen with a great backlight
  • Up to 7 day battery life
  • Use any standard 22mm watch band
  • Water resistant and durable
  • Tactile buttons for easy eyes-free clicking
  • Silent vibrating alarms
  • Step tracking with Misfit and Jawbone
  • Language and international character support (Chinese coming soon!)
  • Timeline will work on Pebble and Pebble Steel (exact date TBD)
  • Works with iOS 8 on iPhone 4s and above
  • Works with all Android 4.0+ phones including Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Google, Motorola, Xiaomi and more

The Pebble Time is now being crowd funded on Kickstarter, you can find find out more here.

If you’re interested to get your hands on the original Pebble and Pebble Steel, it’s available at $99 and $199.
