Misfit Wearables announced the availability of their most advanced tracker to date, the Misfit Shine 2. Weighing in at only 8g compared to its predecessor, the Misfit Shine 2 is feather-light; not that we would notice the difference of 1 g anyway.
Certain trademarks we’ve come to associate with the Misfit line of trackers still stay. A single coin cell battery will power the Misfit Shine 2 for up to 6 months, the tracker is waterproof up to 50m, the tracker face tells time and the device can be worn on most parts of the body with the accompanying accessories.
What’s new is that the Misfit Shine 2 has been fitted with a vibration motor that will go off when calls or messages come up on the connected mobile device. Also the vibrations alerts will function as daily silent alarms or serve to remind the user to get up and move. The capacitive touch sensor is supposed to make the Shine 2 instantly responsive compared to the original Shine.
The Misfit Shine 2 will also connect to the Misfit Link app to be used as a remote to play music, take a selfie or interact with a variety of internet services and smart devices.

The improved device comes packed with the standard accessories of a TPU strap, a clasp and an additional action clip. This action clip helps the Misfit Shine 2 unit to stay within the wrist straps during vigorous activities. The clasp has also undergone a design change, departing from the magnetic clasp, and is now made of nylon.
