Montblanc e-strap

By Michael S • January 3, 2015 • News

According to reports from A Blog to Watch, Montblanc has announced the its Timewalker Urban Speed Collection with an optional e-strap.

The Montblanc e-strap device houses a inbuilt touch screen display that also functions as a navigation panel. The technical device is encapsulated in a stainless steel case with rubber protection. Boasting functions like smartphone notifications, activity tracking, remote control to smartphone camera, music control on smartphone device and a find-me function that allows the user to search for smartphone device. The Monblanc e-strap device claims 5 days use before recharge.

The e-strap is made of Montblanc Extreme Leather, created in Florence, that looks both sporty yet elegant. The upper surface of the high performance leather wristband has a characteristic carbon appearance. It is abrasion resistance, water repellence and heat wear-, water- and fire-resistant. The good news is the Montblanc e-Strap device can be easily fixed and adjusted with the pass-through to all strap sizes 20/22mm.

Montblanc has managed to infuse technology without marring the intricacies and aesthetics of a time piece. Perhaps this is where smart watches should focus on, the strap rather than the watch face.

The Montblanc e-strap device is going for 250 pounds when it goes on sale. It’s a small price to pay for luxury.
